Volunteers create an impact by:
Engaging with emerging community leaders at Rosewood and in the community
Building community pride and cohesion through planning and participating in meetings, activities and events
Connecting with neighbors, businesses and partner organizations to increase our collective impact
Here are some volunteer positions to consider:
Greet and welcome all visitors, staff, and partners in a friendly and trauma informed manner. Assist every guest in signing in on the appropriate form and with all the required information. Promote Rosewood events and encourage guests to attend. Make sure flyers at the front desk are from events at Rosewood and are fully stocked. Answer phone and direct calls and guests to the appropriate information, services, staff, and/or resources. Assist center navigator as needed with opening and/or closing task list.
Utilize Salesforce to enter center sign-in sheets for guest, volunteers, staff and partners. Log volunteer, staff, and partners hours and their corresponding activity and campaign as needed.
Engage with children and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children to join in on the activity. Ask front desk to open art cabinet and make sure to clean and put away supplies when done, close art supplies cabinet when done. Encourage children to follow center rules during activities and put away any toys or board games used during the activity. Wipe down tables and or sweep space used.
Assist with assigned job duties during event. Help set up/clean up event as needed. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests.
Wipe all touch surfaces in the bathroom, mirror, soap dispenser, clean toilets with designated disinfecting spray. Check if toilet paper and paper towels are fully stocked in each bathroom. Utilize diluted disinfecting spray for kitchen and tables in the center. Make sure floors are swept. Keep children’s area clean, toys are put away, and books are organized on the shelf. Assure that all garbages have been taken out and new bags are put in.
Photographer should bring their own camera to help take pictures for Rosewood event. Once event is completed send photos via email to organizer so that they could be posted on Rosewood’s social media sites.
Computer Lab Assistant
Monitor and assist in the computer lab during open lab hours. Assist guests in basic troubleshooting, email, uploading, job search, resume, and editing.
Assist Rosewood with marketing needs; flyers, website, and social media posts. This could also include graphic design and strategy.
Bike Shop Support
Support Rosewood Bikes during open hours. Assist guests with bike repairs and sales. Knowledge of bikes, bike repair, and bike safety are a plus!
Help one of our Directors with program administration including: scheduling, research, note taking, planning, organizing, etc.
