Thanks to everyone for attending our monthly Rosewood Initiative Community meeting! Once again, we had a great turn out of community members, law enforcement, and city and county staff. Special thanks to Pat Gold from Allied Health Services for speaking to us about the work they are doing at the methadone clinic, and to Lt McGranahan for filling us in on the Transit Police Division’s efforts to increase security on the MAX line. If anyone wants to continue discussing either of these topics, please let us know. It is great to have both of these organizations join us in our community building efforts in the Rosewood area. Lt McGranahan was asked about physical changes to the MAX station platforms at 162nd and Burnside. He followed-up after contacting TriMet: windscreens were completed about 2 months ago at both East and West bound stops to enhance shelter. There are no other immediate plans for changes to this MAX stop.
Does anyone have ideas to engage the clinic or TriMet in positive projects or partnerships? Many MAX stations have public art work that is meaningful to that particular community. That could be a fun way to celebrate how essential this resource is to the Rosewood area!
